The State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine, together with the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Clarivate, invites graduate students and early-career researchers to participate in the Summer School — a series of webinars on modern trends in scientific communication, challenges of digital and open science, and current issues of academic publishing.
We have collected the topics that most often arise for a novice researcher – from finding quality scientific information to data management and research ethics. Each webinar combines practical advice and work with real tools that the researcher will use every day.

July 2 — Not Google alone: searching for scientific information
Modern scientific search engines and major multidisciplinary databases. Working with the Web of Science platform: effective search, filters, analysis of results, and citation tracking.
July 9 — Bibliographic managers and permanent identifiers
Organizing your own library of sources and automatic citation formatting. The role of permanent identifiers (ORCID, DOI) for researcher visibility and correct citation.
July 16 — How to prepare a systematic review of sources for a dissertation or scientific project
Stages of a systematic review of literature: formulation of search queries, selection criteria, documentation of the process and tools for working with large arrays of sources.
July 23 — Artificial intelligence for scientific research
Possibilities and limits of using tools based on artificial intelligence in the research process — from literature search for data analysis and writing, and fair use issues.
July 30 — Research Data Management
Research data life cycle and FAIR principles, data management plan, metadata, repositories, and data openness requirements of foundations and journals.
August 6 — Research Ethics
Principles of academic integrity, prevention of plagiarism, ethical aspects of authorship, peer review and publication, and ethics of working with data and artificial intelligence.
