On May 20, the broadcast of the “Knowledge Module” program on Radio Kultura took place, dedicated to the challenges and prospects of Ukrainian science. The focus is on trust in science as an indicator of the maturity of the state, the impact of the war on the attitude of Ukrainians to technology and engineering, the motivation of young people for a scientific career, the peculiarities of the Ukrainian experience, the importance of the environment for the development of young scientists. The issues of popularization of science, academic mobility and the role of the botanical garden as a space of inspiration and enlightenment were also discussed. Popularization of science is not an “additional option”, but a necessity. It is thanks to open festivals, interactive events and public discussions that science becomes understandable and visible to society. An important role in this is played by initiatives such as the Day of Science and Plants, the World Day of Science for Peace and Development, and the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, which emphasize the global importance of science and equal opportunities in the research field.
