On June 10, 2026, a solemn ceremony of awarding leading scientists and young scientists of the capital on the occasion of Science Day was held in Kyiv.
For their significant personal contribution to the development of Ukrainian science, strengthening the scientific and technical potential of the capital under martial law, many years of conscientious work and high professionalism, the Kyiv Mayor’s gratitude was awarded to representatives of the Council of Young Scientists of the NAS of Ukraine:
Kasperovych Dmytro Vasylovych – Deputy Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Senior Researcher, Senior Research Fellow of the Institute for Nuclear Research of the NAS of Ukraine, Representative of the Department of Nuclear Physics and Energy of the NAS of Ukraine;
Semko Oleksiy Viktorovych – Member of the Council of Young Scientists of the NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Senior Research Fellow of the Institute of Telecommunications and Global Information Space of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, representative of the Department of Informatics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;
Vovk Kateryna Vyacheslavovna – member of the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Candidate of Geological Sciences, Senior Research Fellow of the M. P. Semenenko Institute of Geochemistry, Mineralogy and Ore Formation of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, representative of the Department of Earth Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;
Palash Alena Olehivna – member of the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Philosophy, Junior Research Fellow of the Institute of the Ukrainian Language of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, representative of the Department of Literature, Language and Art History of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
The ceremony brought together representatives of academic and industry institutions, higher education institutions, and scientific and production enterprises in Kyiv. The award was a recognition of the professional achievements of scientists, their active participation in the development of the scientific potential of the capital, and their contribution to ensuring the sustainability and technological development of Ukraine.
Representatives of the Council of Young Scientists of the NAS of Ukraine work in various scientific areas – from nuclear physics and information technologies to Earth sciences and linguistics. Their recognition testifies to the important role of young researchers in the development of interdisciplinary research, the introduction of innovations and the preservation of the scientific potential of Ukraine in times of war.
