On April 9, 2026, a meeting was held between representatives of the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Denys Kurbatov. The meeting was the first step towards the formation of systemic interaction between the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.


Representatives of the leadership of the directorates of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine also took part in the dialogue: Hryhoriy Mozolevych – Director General of the Directorate for the Development of Science, Oksana Berezhna – Director General of the Directorate for Innovations and Relations of Science with the Real Sector of the Economy, Svitlana Kryshtof – Head of the Department for Certification of Highly Qualified Personnel of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
On behalf of the Council of Young Scientists of the NAS of Ukraine, the following joined the discussion: Chairman of the Council Oleksandr Kovalchuk, his deputies Volodymyr Artemchuk, Dmytro Kasperovych, Borys Olifirov, Iryna Petrova, Secretary of the Council Stepan Kyrylyuk, Council member Oleksiy Semko, as well as associate members of the Council Oleksandr Dubrova and Serhiy Solopan.
During the meeting, the parties focused on outlining key areas of state policy in the field of science development and support for young researchers, as well as tools that are being implemented by the Ministry and can become the basis for further cooperation. In particular, the issues of improving approaches to the preparation and defense of dissertations, clarifying the legal status of scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers, as well as the development of financial mechanisms for supporting young scientists were discussed.
Following the results of the meeting, it was emphasized that the initiated dialogue is an important step towards the formation of systemic interaction between the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Further work will be aimed at specifying joint decisions, agreeing on tools for their implementation, and strengthening the role of young scientists in the development of the scientific and technological potential of the state.
