The XIV All-Ukrainian conference of young scientists, students and postgraduates on topical issues of chemistry, which took place on October 10-12, 2023 in the Scientific and Technological Complex “Institute of Single Crystals” of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, has completed its work.
The main purpose of the conference there was an introduction to the achievements of young scientists, students and post-graduate students of Ukraine in research activities in various fields of chemistry, support and improvement of their professional qualifications and scientific level, as well as approbation of new scientific results, gaining experience in public presentation and protection of the main provisions of scientific research, establishment of cooperation of young scientists, exchange of information, experience and ideas.
The topics of the conference covered the following areas:

- physical, inorganic, analytical chemistry and materials science;

- organic, medical and pharmaceutical chemistry.
The organizer of the conference was the Council of Young Scientists of the Research Department of Chemistry of Functional Materials of NTC “IMK” with the support of the Complex administration.
Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Volodymyr Semynozhenko addressed the participants of the conference with a welcome speech and Valentin Chebanov, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, emphasizing the need and importance of active involvement of promising young people in scientific research.
The conference was attended by 51 participants from different cities of Ukraine, namely, from Kharkiv (22), Kyiv (16), Lviv (4), Dnipro (3), Odesa (2), Cherkassy (1), Uzhgorod ( 1), some young Ukrainian scientists had foreign affiliation (France, Portugal).
Plenary reports were presented by leading scientists of Ukraine: Ph.D. Bugai O.M. (Sumy), member-cor. NASU, doctor of science, prof. Stryzhak P.E. (Kyiv), doctor of science, prof. Zhuravel I.O. (Kharkov city).
The hybrid format of the conference included face-to-face and remote presentations. The largest number of guests and participants who simultaneously attended the conference face-to-face and joined in Zoom was about 30 and 40, respectively. 47 oral reports were heard directly during the meetings.
Also, a competition for the best oral presentation was held during the conference, the winners of which were awarded prizes
1st place – Fedyk Andriy, graduate student, Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, Kyiv
2nd place – Valeriy Sirenko, graduate student, Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, Kyiv
3rd place – Vladyslav Goncharov, student, National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”, Kharkiv.
Also, Dmytro Kobzev (graduate student DNU “NTK “Institute of Single Crystals” of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kharkiv) and Mudrak Vladyslav (graduate student Kharkiv National University named after V.N. Karazin, Kharkiv and Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination du CNRS, France ) received awards for works with significant applied value.
